Icarus bashes Catholics yet again

May 16, 2010

Charles “Icarus”: Johnson is  a hater of Christianity. He is radical militant Atheist who has no respect for anyone’s beliefs. In his Totalitarian vision of society, religion has no role.

Another day and another Catholic bashing by the Jazz Artist.

Here is another example of Catholic bashing at LGF.

Abortion is wrong. The woman could easily have died even afterwards.

This story smells funny, light on details heavy on condemnation, vintage selrahC.For instance, was the need to terminate the pregnancy an emergency or could the patient be transferred to another facility where abortions are routinely performed. As usual,Icarus cherry picks a story to fit his agenda.

Funny smell, indeed. The excommunication should be automatic; she’s not entitled to be a nun while breaking the church’s rules. But the demotion part suggests that it wasn’t medically indicated. They’re not going to make a decision that exposes them to that kind of liability. They’ll transfer the patient to a non-Catholic hospital if they can’t do the procedure there, but they’re not going to open themselves to that kind of multi-million dollar suit.

The media manufactures a story for scummy blogs like LGF to run with, and look what happens.

You’re right, I missed that part, after reading the paragraph that said they couldn’t reveal details of the case. (Which they proceeded to do.)

Well, pulmonary hypertension is another really good reason to authorize an abortion. The Church’s position is that the hospital should not have tried to save her, which is absolutely morally bankrupt.

Even more amazing, the comments on your blog accuse those making the decision of not having a medical background.

With you thinking it was an ectopic pregnancy, not having read the story at first, and now only knowing it was pulmonary hypertension, yet still accuse the Church of going out of their way to not try and save her.

    Did you read the chart?

Since you are not of a medical background, do you think you are qualified to talk as if you are?

Do you know if it they tried other treatments?

The most obvious aspect in all of this, is that you have absolute disdain fort he church, and do your best to twist the knife at any chance you get.

You offer all types of defense for scum out there now, yet you knee jerk at any possible chance to bash Catholics.

Jason totally nails Chucky on his anti-catholic bigotry.

no doubt he was banned immediately and called a creationist climate change denier and bircher after he could no longer defend himself.

btw Icarus,an ectopic pregnancy would require major surgery, not an abortion. Ignorant slut.

Bottom line, this is a Catholic hospital. Abortions are forbidden by Catholic doctrine. The hospital administration knew this, methinks it was a political protest decision. Massive fail.

Personally, I am ambivalent about Catholicism, abortion, etc. But what is utterly pathetic is how one of Chucky’s few remaining loyalists, Reine, actually claims to be a “conservative Catholic”, yet she either remains quiet, or goes along with the constant bashing of everything Catholic and conservative on said site.

    Oh well. Silence is consent.

Reine is a sell out and a Progressive. What Conservative would stay at a Neo-Maosit blog and just let her side get bashed.

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01046b.htm This is the Catholic Doctrine on abortion. It is the FINAL word on the subject and ALL Catholics MUST obey it, priests, nuns, doctors, EVERY Catholic. End of story. Don’t like? Then change denominations or don’t believe in God at all. Hey, Cupcake, why don’t you direct some of your vitriol at the Socialists in charge of running this country, instead of believers? They are the ones who are trying to destroy our way of life and turn us into a secular “utopia”. Like it or not, the tenets of Religion (in general, not a specific group) is one of the pillars upon which the USA was built. 1st amendment anyone? Therefore, you can take your Catholic/Jew/Name your religion-bashing and stick it up your morally bankrupt ass. Your Mother, God rest her soul, must really be proud of you. Pussy.

charles is a fan of eugenics, no doubt.

that’s the reason he had such a chaz-bono for killer tiller.

also a reason why charles hates sarah palin, since she chose to have a child with downs syndrome.

tiller and chucky say : abort em all !

well not now, tiller just says ” ouch that’s hot “

If the case was not an emergency, why did the woman decide to go to it?
How far away was the nearest non-Catholic hospital? There is no evidence to suggest that the Catholics would have been prepared to let the woman die.

Should all Catholic hospitals avoid ob-gyn?

The consequences for the nun of demotion (and maybe excommunication) seem quite mild. Presumably she knew them before she advised the operation – which the mother survived.

There are interesting questions – including moral ones – raised by this, but Charles simply wants to find moral bankruptcy in religion, not weigh the issues.

I have not seen Charles write about the moral bankruptcy of forced abortion in China. Being a government program, forced abortion is something he would support. Have women died from these abortions? Yes. And the consequences for moral behavior have been appalling. Female infanticide. Lack of brides. Dogma is most dangerous when embraced by the state.

For what its worth, pulmonary hypertension can be treated during pregnancy with a variety of medications. I am unable to find a case report of an early gestation such as this causing an acute exacerbation in pulmonary hypertension (even preexisting). Obviously the article leaves out a lot of patient information for privacy reasons but it makes me wonder if this abortion was really medically necessary.

IMO someone with a severe condition such as primary pulmonary hypertension shouldn’t have gotten pregnant in the first place. No reason to kill a fetus for mom’s mistake. By the same token there’s no reason to kill mom for her mistake either. Rock and a hard place.

A Catholic nun, administrator at a CATHOLIC hospital, consults with the patient or her responsible party and her doctors, then joins in a decision that would be morally repugnant to her whichever way she went.
I’m sure if there was third option, she would have taken it.
I’m sure she knew the ramifications of her decision
I’ll bet the Bishop wishes he’d chose his words more carefully, if not his actions…
I’m sure Charles Johnson chose to fish for lefty atheist page views.
The only choices that took courage were the ones the poor nun had to make.
A no win situation for her.
