Mathemagical Thinking
Mr. Science is at it again:
Well, let’s see. According to this site,
At least 565,927 infected Americans have died of AIDS (2006 numbers).
And,
Nearly half of all people living with HIV in the U.S. in 2006 (48%, or 532,000 total persons) were men who have sex with men.
Which works out to 0.48 x 565,927, or 271,645, or in scientific notation, 2.72×10^5 gays have died of AIDS through 2006, or an average of 10^4 (that’s 10,000, for all you non-scientists) per year over the period of 1980-2006.
Reliable statistics on racial violence aren’t as easily found, but as a typical year in that period, the FBI statistics for 2006 show 3 murders classified as “hate crimes”. Hmm.
As for no one advocating perversion, a search of some LGF overnight threads will be all that’s necessary to lay that lie bare.

So to reduce this to mere quantum genius level, 10,000 is more than 3. Not less. FAIL.
But watch out for that “unconsentual” sex sneaking up on you. It might impose some racial violence as well.
I would expect that the AIDS death rates of the former Soviet Union and sub-saharan Africa would further dwarf the assertion.
As for AIDS versus interethnic strife, there are places in this world where you can get both. A lot of both. However that wasn’t Von Quack’s original comment. Von Quack said that interethnic strife gets millions killed (very true) and that unsafe sex DOES NOT. In his second comment (which you quoted) he moved the goalpost.
One could certainly make an argument that first you have to enforce the rule of law before you can even think about fighting disease. I’d agree with that. One might even add that ethnic strife overly complicates both enforcing the law and instilling respect for the law (citing Putnam). But Von Quack prefers quacking over thinking.
He could have avoided this by framing the arguments more clearly. Over all of history and all of the world? Sure, racial violence trumps AIDS. But he didn’t provide any framework, so the framework of the US from 1980-present (or 2006 when the data stopped) is a reasonable guess.
Same exact problem of when he gets up on his soapbox about AGW. It’s not that there isn’t a warming trend over some period, properly framed. But he never frames anything. Without specifying particulars, there’s nothing to talk about.
Thanks for running with this, in my opinion it’s prima facia evidence Ludwank is not a scientist. No man of science would make such a bizarre ludicrous claim.
Jim Hansen might. Some people just don’t think before they open their mouths.
BTW, if you want to start comparing body counts, let’s not forget that this is the same guy who was sobbing about what victims communists were. By all means, let’s talk numbers.
Looks like LVQ knows about as much about this topic as he does AGW.
Nothing
but that doesn’t keep this fucktard from acting like an authority. What a bullshitter
