Not sure if I agree that he’s deliberately missing the point. Listening is a skill unto itself, and lots of “smart” people don’t know how to listen. To the best of my recollection, he’s never comprehended the gist of anything I’ve ever said correctly. Never. And it’s impossible to tell whether this is deliberate, or educational manque, or some obscure neurological condition.
