If the Lewd Wig were not so desperately trying to show that he is 100% a merkin, he would be aware that:
1) It does not matter that Islam is “not monolithic”; there are commonalities across the board in Islam, as there are in Judaism and Christianity.
2) Nobody is being “punished” by being told that the community that they are supposedly “engaged in outreach to” overwhelmingly does not want a mosque at, or near, Ground Zero. This is not “punishment,” but an expression of the community—and were those behind the building of the proposed mosque actually interested in “outreach,” they would heed the voice of those they claim to be trying to “outreach” to.
3) Nobody has said that Muslims—even Muslims with shady funding and a radical imam posing as a phony “moderate,” as is the case here—do not have a “right” to build their triumphal monument. But having a right is not the same as doing the right thing. And the insistence on “rights” is a clear indication that even non-Muslim apologists for this disgusting structure know in their hearts that it is not the right thing.
4) Again, there is no “persecution” here. No trampling on anyone’s “rights.” Nobody whatsoever saying that mosques cannot be built, or even that a mosque cannot be built adjacent to Ground Zero—despite the utter lack of any Muslim community in the vicinity sufficient to justify or merit a thirteen-story structure, despite the centuries-old history of Muslims building grandiose mosques to celebrate what they regard as victories or conquests. Nobody is saying “can’t.” They are merely saying “don’t.”
5) The ADL has not claimed that American Muslims are not American—to the contrary, they have taken American Muslims at their word that they are, indeed, American and regard themselves as such by asking that they heed the overwhelming voices of their fellow Americans. If American Muslims do not heed this voice, they will be showing that they, themselves, do not consider themselves American—which is no reflection whatever on the ADL.
The most amazing thing of all, (well to me at least) is these type of folks are the type who also devote insane amounts of time making sure there are no explicit displays in the town square during Christmas because it might offend someone, a replica of the 10 Commandments in a Court House, or a cross upon a hill in dedication to those who gave their life in defense of this country.
Moreover, the guy at the center of this has more than enough evidence on record to make his aspirations suspect.

ad 1) So, LvQ you would be perfectly ok with building a convent in Auschwitz (at the place of the old camp theater) and a 8 m cross in front of Block 11 according to your defense of the Mosque near Ground Zero in NY since in Auschwitz also 70000 Poles died? ad 2) How do you know who is guilty ? How do you know who of those who will pray at the Mosque have celebrated 9/11 at home ? How do you know the motifs of those who will pray there ? ad 3) American rights and liberties are not denied to them. There are a dozen or more Mosques and Islamic Centers in NYC one of them in Manhatten. The question is NOT if they can build an Islamic Center or a Mosquein NYC the question is about the right place for it. No one ever will deny the nuns in Poland to build a convent but was the convent in Auschwitz the right place ?
ad 4) Don’t you agree that to hurt the feelings of the families of the victims and the feelings of the citizens of NY will at the long run do more harm for a peaceful living together ? Why not building a religous center for all religions at Ground Zero ? Why is it so important to make Islam dominant there ?
ad 5) Who denies Muslims in the USA respect ? But respect is no one way street: why don’t they respect the feelings of the victim-families and the citizens of NYC ? Because they are superior to them ?
At least the request to build a Mosque at this very special place is tasteless, shows no respect to the victims and their families and is arrogant.
One last question: why not building such a Islamic Center for moderate Islam in Riyadh/Saudi Arabia, Kabul/Afghanistan or Gaza City ? Wouldn’ t this be more helpful for a interreligious understanding ? You know these are places where Jews and Christians a permanently denied their freedom of religion.

I remember touring Pearl Harbor on my honeymoon back in ’84, and thinking, “Hey…we won this war, didn’t we?” The place was completely overrun with Japanese tourists, snapping pics and chattering in Japanese. I was a little put-off by that, especially around the shrine of the Arizona, still leaking oil, and still containing the remains of hundreds of dead American sailors. My Dad fought in the Pacific from ’43-’45, as a member of the B-29 swarm that was inflicting severe pain on Japan and the islands nearby. So, it’s not like we didn’t avenge Pearl Harbor, but still…
