it’s getting to the point over there now that not only is downdinging a “favorite” poster or comment a bannable offense, but I soon see Chuckles or one of his inner inner circle going around and punishing posters for not updinging comments that he approves of or are made by the “favorites”.
It would fit into the high school clique thing going on over there now.
The trend line for “average karma per post” for the last 300+ threads (60k+ comments) is definitely trending up (positive slope). Maybe that’s “karma inflation”, maybe it’s an increasingly uniform group-think, whatever, that metric is definitely trending upward.
back about this time last year (or so. I forget), VDH made a point of saying some nice things about Chuckles in the middle of the Great Purge. Chuckles loved it so much, he made it into a sticky at the top of the page. And this is how Chuckles repays the decency not even a year later by allowing these comments to stand (and recall, in LGF speak, allowing a comment to stay on a rival’s site means that site owner approves of the comment)?
