Well H I picked the fight because I cannot stand cowardice and betrayal. I don’t like mandy myself, but I defended her more than her so called “friends” did. And you know why? Because she was RIGHT, charles WAS painting all tenneseans as racist. I don’t have to like someone to defend them when they are in the right.
Dork was supposed to be her friend….and he pissed the carpet in fear of getting banned himself, instead of standing up like a MAN and taking up for his friend. Him and reine BOTH tucked tail and ran.
Spineless, gutless cowards, both of them are, but oh so tough guys on the internet to me….for taking up for THEIR friend!!

I`ve often pondered why I had this emotional attachment to LGF. I think it had something to do with a sense of belonging, making a difference and being part of something bigger. It`s banal, I know, but when you refer to it as “The Cult of CJ”, you have to realize it always was sort of a religious thing. And it still is, but he keeps different company now.
Many people identified with LGF and had their virtual friends there, who in many cases became real-life friends, and felt this blog, this monster of an uncontrollable internet force, really could change the political discourse. And it did. For a while.
It had razor sharp posters , a lively community, high standing amongst other political blogs, and the ability to really shake things up. And we all know what happened. He went bonkers. (Let me digress for a sec: CJ really, really wanted Allah and Ace to go with him early on. LGF would have looked radically different now if they would have done so).
Which brings me to Dark Falkon and the rest of the conservative posters who are still there. They have invested so much time, intellectual capital and energy into this once great thing. It`s their little community, and they`re hanging on. They now feel the same way most of us felt a little while back, and they`re a little scared and confused. If they were to pack up and leave, it`s all been for nothing. But they know it`s inevitable. But for now, they`ll say anything to get by.
If you read between the lines, it`s quite obvious many of them are very uncomfortable and would rather be somewhere else. But for some reason, back to the cultish element here, LGF has got such a stronghold.
That`s why I`m not willing to judge a single soul still on LGF, people I once considered sane that is. (Some of the posters there are of course completely useless. Iceweasel springs to mind. What a fucking waste of letters – not a single worthwhile original thought in how many years?). They are struggling with getting out of a cult.
So, in the grand scheme of things, what`s a little “Fuck You” amongst friends?

I personally was not offended by his comment because I only care what my family and friends think of me…everyone else..not so much lol.
You are correct in the cult like place it has become. But for me personally, I just cannot abide by people not sticking by their friends. It is cowardly, especially when they know that the ban stick will eventually get them. At least by standing up, they would still have some dignity about themselves. I had a pretty bad upbringing, abuse blah blah blah, but I would never beg and I would never crawl.
It sickens me to see someone do it for an anonymous blogger who holds absolutely no power over them. EXCEPT for the power they so obviously have relinquished to him.

The problem with all this talk about investment is that you’re giving the classic excuse that a battered (physically and/or emotionally) spouse/partner gives when someone asks why they don’t leave the abusive bum. You can cry over spilled milk all day, but in the end, there’s is exactly one appropriate response to abuse, and that’s to hit the road, and don’t give the asshole any more opportunities for abuse.
Anything else is just rationalization.

I read with interest the details of Mandy’s banning last night. I think it proves once and for all what an amoral place LGF has become. It brings back terrible memories of how I was treated in high school. How terrible that none of her friends stood up for her. I think the posters on LGF have a decision to make: leave as free men and women and e proud or be cowardly and craven and submit to a virtual dictatorship. As harsh as that sounds, that describes LGF perfectly.
