The VAST majority of the people who are opposed to the Tea Party and the VAST majority of the people who are prejudiced against the South know almost nothing about the South. It’s absurd to claim that these people are anti-Southern because they’re “informed.” They’re informed by a cottage industry of house-bound political extremists and bigots.
I’d generalize that to all flyover people, and then further to all conservatives and libertarians. The cartoonish notions that they have about the people who disagree with them border on Der Sturmer cartoons.
