The Jazz Man is clearly hurting financially. His shift to the Left hasn’t worked out so well in monetary terms. He is laughed at by the major players on the Progressive scene and is just ignored. Now in order to get more money he is offering that if you subscribe to LGF through paypal and donate $10 a month, you will get an ad free LGF!

Clearly the Jazz Man is desperate and needs money. But here is warning, if you do you subscribe to LGF via Paypal do so at your own risk. The Jazz man has outed people’s identities via their Paypal information. This subscription is not only a way to make money, but to gather information on people.

    Chuckie has disabled the cook book ad,of which fifty per cent of sales revenue allegedly goes to the charity group Soldier’s Angels. Looks like it’s SCREW the troops,chuck needs the $ more than they do.

    I find that Firefox with the AdBlockPlus plug in (free) works pretty well for wading through the swamp.

    The ads must not be paying shit, but I wonder if this violates his agreements with the ad purchasors? They buy the right to his traffic, unless they are “Pay Per Click” ads. Those are the cheapest ads on the net, and don’t pay unless someone actually uses the ad to go to the linked page (even then the pay is shit poor; a couple of cents a click, maybe a nickel. It ain’t going to add up to much :evil: ). Man, he’s scraping the very bottom of that barrel. He must feel a lot like Barack Obama right now. Two years ago he was flying high, and now his stock is being delisted (and delinked) everywhere. Of course, Obama’s still rich. So’s Pamela, as far as that goes. She’s got a new book, and Chuckie’s got Lewd Squid van Quack Quack. He must be very proud…

      His ads are sold through a network. He probably gets paid on a CPM, or per-1,000-impressions basis. No ads served, no pay. So, no, it’s not going to violate any agreement he has with his network. He is a very small piece of a very large pie.

    As someone who has been writing about online advertising for more than a decade, I can tell you LGF probably gets at most $10 per thousand impressions from his advertisers. His space is sold through a network called Kontera. Ten dollars per month per reader wildly overestimates his readership’s value.

    Plus, the only newsletters that command three-figure yearly subscription rates are those that help people make or save money, usually professional or financial newsletters.

    The Kiplinger Letter charges $117 for one year, for example.

    Call me crazy, but I don’t see Charles in Kiplinger’s league. And I highly doubt even his most blindly loyal followers will view him as worh forking over more than $100 per year.

      I bet more than a few regulars figure being a subscriber will enhance their accumulated and future karma and value that enough to fork over the money. Still that’s only some fraction of a couple dozen, but for them the karma is like a drug.

    Ideally, the hosting company shuts him down for non-payment without so much as a by-your-leave. And bonus points if it happens while Quack Quack is in the middle of one of his cut and paste plagarist posts and it’s lost for all eternity.

    Let me think about this for a while…..

    Surf the rest of the web and download pron for free(purely hypothetical)..
    or..
    Pay Chuck $120.00 a year, not for the content mind you..just to not put up with the ads.

    This may take a few minutes, let me get back to you.

    There is no way that anyone over aged 12 with half a brain would subscribe to that site.
    Even those who, for political reasons, like the turn to the extreme left that LGF has taken cannot fail to see that the CJ and the crowd running the place lack basic integrity.

    Yes, give your money to a “webmaster” that thinks that breaking into a site and defacing it in the middle of the night is A-OK. By not banning this person (because you ban people for simple disagreement on topics) you have given full approval and consent for that action.

    These are people you want to trust with your sensitive financial account and personal information.

    On another note, go get a job so you don’t have to leach off your readers. The way and depth that CJ blogs, he could achieve a day’s work in about 5 minutes.

    All I can say is ‘again’? He is trying to drum up people to hit the tip jar on almost a weekly basis…yeah he is hurting for money.
    That is what happens when you ban most of your reader’s and then do a complete 180 in your blog.
    I don’t think it was a woman or he is insane….I think he just went with the msm and with the obama as president and went back to his leftist self and thought that would be a good business thing to do…..hmmmm wrong!

      Maybe Chunky needs that course in reading comprehension he asked one of his posters to get on the other thread. I’m sure Chunky will be putting up one of his “I’m getting [nonexistent] hate mail!” threads soon. These threads are very important so that the lizards continue to believe that they are part of something very, very important. Which…well…uh….no.

      Chunky has become an infamous opinion whore. Does he really believe any blogger worth their salt wants to be associated with him? HuffPo and Kos consider themselves serious websites. No seat at their cool table for you, Chunky.

    There is nothing wrong with this feature, seeing as lgf is more of a social club than a source for news that you ordinarily couldn’t find.(like it used to be, but things change, and that is ok) Nice niche market and probably worth it. Pay to chat with friends of similar views.

    Maybe he could have small scriptless ads at the bottom for those who wished to indulge;

    Che shirts;
    Coexist stickers

    And links to DAILYKOS AND HUFFPO

    When he actually had traffic I believe he mentioned that he was going to get a 2nd dedicated server to handle the load. On the bottom of the blog he has a “Hosting provided by Hosting Matters” image. I checked the website for Hosting Matters and dedicated servers stat at $139.95/month. Assuming he still has the same setup, it costs him a minimum of $279.90/month for hosting or $3,358.80/year. He will need 28 people to pay $10/month to cover hosting, never mind his other expenses.
