And He’s a Poopyhead, Too!!!

September 14, 2010

This may be a new record for vacuous name-calling:

Knowing nothing about this guy, I don’t know what skeletons he may or may not have in his closet, but the post on LFG wasn’t any help in that department, it was just a link to a TPM article on the win.

He’s not even cutting and pasting anymore; he’s just throwing a link to somebody else’s work, and a few pejoratives, and calling it a thread.

    Again, he’s a bigot against GOPers…

But, apparently, some bigotries are better than others…

Also, is it just me, or does his overuse of the juvenile term “BAD CRAZINESS!!!!111!!!!11!” indicate a lack of creativity?…

Isn’t it also odd that someone who allows some pretty vile misogynist comments about Sarah Palin stand on his site, and routinely makes misogynist comments about Pam Geller himself uses “misogynist” as a general-purpose pejorative? Seem a little out of place to me.

I’m not sure, but it seems to be that far more men than women are now on LGF. I know there’s more, but I can only think of reine and iceweasel as two women over there. It would be interesting to find out, using Kirly’s list of the banned and blocked, how many of those were women. I suspect it’s a high number. I know that even before I was banned, that I as a woman was really uncomfortable with Charles’ hatred for Sarah Palin, apparently because she’s a woman, and with his misogynistic slurs against Pamela Gellar. People can have legitimate disagreements with Gellar, but to constantly deride her as a “shrieking harpy” or a drunk and post unflattering photos of her says more about the person doing the slurring than it says about her. Charles has a real problem with women, and even his most ardent fans like Sharmuta and Mandy Manners eventually figure that out. You can be as big a fan of abortion as you’d like, Charles, but it doesn’t hide the fact that you hold women in contempt.

Chunky, remember this…when you’re pointing your trembly, rage-addled finger at your latest non-moonbat target, you’ve got three more little piggies pointing right back at you.

Is it just me, or is the poor guy unraveling at an ever-increasing rate?

Had Rick Lazio won he’d probably have been called the same names. When you’re always twisting or just making crap up you can say anything.

There was some kerfuffle about Paladino forwarding some emails with coarse, allegedly racist, jokes, or something. I don’t remember what they were; they sounded crude, as many email and online jokes are.

But chuckling at a crude joke hardly makes one “racist”; insensitive, maybe, but everyone is insensitive at times. Everyone, moreover, has the right to be not only insensitive, but as “racist” as they want to be—provided that they don’t put that racism into effect in certain areas, such as denying someone a job or a place to live solely on the basis of race.

The effort by the Left to make mere accusations of “racism” sufficient to place someone beyond any legitimacy is an effort, as people here well know, to silence not merely dissent, but any form of independent thought, just as accusations of “homophobia” are leveled, not because someone is “anti-gay” but because someone merely disagrees with the agenda of the moment of the most vocal “rights activists.”

The leftwing substitution of namecalling for debate, in the hope of actually ending debate, or more properly making debate impossible, is very much akin to the project of Newspeak as described in Orwell’s anti-Stalinist 1984. In that book, you will remember, the objective of Newspeak was to make any deviation, even in thought, from the Party line impossible by eliminating the words in which to formulate it. One of Winston Smith’s colleagues who was working on the Newspeak dictionary described with pride how Newspeak was a language whose vocabulary is constantly shrinking.

One can see that vocabulary shrinkage in real time in Leftist discourse today, and can see also the poverty of thought which it produces.

And the logical conclusion of that process is this one-sentence post, which correctly says that Paladino is the nominee, but then piles a lot of unsubstantiated name calling into the same single sentence, and calls it a blog post. Unsubstantiated not necessarily in the sense that it’s wrong, but in the sense that it’s completely unsupported on the post.

      Blogging collapsed onto itself.

Yeah, that anti-gay thing when you are against gay marriage is pretty weird. My best friend is against gay marriage (civil unions yes, but this whole political “marriage schtick” no), but being a gay man he is definitely not anti-gay.
