There are still a handful of former conservatives over at the sewage plant who have no integrity and decided that brown nosing a mediocrity such as Porky is worth selling out their dignity. Shiplord Kirel, Cato the Elder and Kragar (Proud to be a Kafir) immediately come to mind.
He is a true socon. As a “Christian” I do not want someone like him leading this nation. Again, small government conservative to me means not only fiscal sanity, but also personal liberty.
Huckabee and his ilk are neither. What he would do with a willing Congress is chilling to me.
Like Jerry Falwell and many other religious right figures, Huckabee is a Baptist minister who lost his anchor. This radical departure from Baptist tradition is almost invariably associated with media-based evangelism. Huckabee, for example, was just 21 when he went to work for televangelist James Robison.
Charles “Icarus” Johnson is God at LGF, while Killgore Trout is his prophet. The racist violin repair man now predicts there will not be a Republican President for a decade! Never mind the economy is stagnant and THe Democrats are discredited. He gives no insight into how he reached this conclusion.
Killgore Trout clearly is channeling his inner Nostradamus. He’s not a great analyst or thinker so he must be a prophet! A false one of course!
They will never forgive him for helping expose the Dan Rather affair, even though CJ did not break the story (Buckhead of Free Republic did), he did come up with the flashing Microsoft Word GIF. Note that he correctly refers to the Huffington Post as a hate site – the same Huffington Post that he so eagerly courts recognition from now.
In a borderline psychotic screed at Arianna Huffington’s hate site, Mary Mapes peddles lies to the left-wing sheep, who all believe her: Mary Mapes: Courage for Dan Rather.
It has been three years since we aired our much-maligned story on President Bush’s National Guard service and reaped a whirlwind of right-wing outrage and talk radio retaliation. That part of the assault on our story was not unexpected. In September 2004, anyone who had the audacity to even ask impertinent questions about the president was certain to be figuratively kicked in the head by the usual suspects.
What was different in our case was the brand new and bruising power of the conservative blogosphere, particularly the extremists among them. They formed a tightly knit community of keyboard assault artists who saw themselves as avenging angels of the right, determined to root out and decimate anything they believed to be disruptive to their worldview. …
Instantly, the far right blogosphere bully boys pronounced themselves experts on document analysis, and began attacking the form and font in the memos. They screamed objections that ultimately proved to have no basis in fact. But they captured the argument. They dominated the discussion by churning out gigabytes of mind-numbing internet dissertations about the typeface in the memos, focusing on the curl at the end of the “a,” the dip on the top of the “t,” the spacing, the superscript, which typewriters were used in the military in 1972.
It was a deceptive approach, and it worked.
She was a party to an attempt to skew a presidential election with phony documents, and is still lying to cover her part in it.
My favorite part:
The fracas scared the bejeezus out of the CBS corporate types who were completely unaccustomed to the rough and tumble interaction of the blog world. Frankly, the foaming-at-the-mouth response scared me, too. These people WERE scary.
1) The legacy media are hostile to the point of ridiculousness toward anyone who is perceived as a beltway outsider, and no one knows this better than Sarah Palin, who has had to deal with every kind of false accusation imaginable, from the maternity of her child, to false quotes about Russia, to completely fabricated nonsense about banning books. So Sarah Palin has every valid reason to be suspicious of the motives of the legacy media, and every valid reason to be offering this advice to a friend.
2) Unlike when Palin was running for Vice-President, O’Donnell is not running for a national office, and national press coverage is inappropriate. There’s no valid reason for the national legacy media to be interested in her in particular, and no reason for her to be wasting her time on them. Local Delaware media is another matter, but the national media can’t be up to anything good.
So WTF, Chuck?

Update (H/T TaxFreeKiller):
Rwmofo gets 16 downdings for simply stating the obvious:
LGF has degenerated into a cult that worships a washed up Jazz Guitarist turned blogger. When he expressed a view, it is enforced and contrarian views are not allowed. Brooklyn Red correctly points this out!
It’s really more of a cult, than a hive. However this analysis is spot on. Brooklyn Red’s time at LGF is now numbered.
Still getting spammed by moronic right wingers totally convinced that I'm the ringleader of a sekrit plot to oppress them. #TwitterGulagLOL58 minutes ago
