Well, back when LGF was conservative, CJ used to spout that line all the time about LGF being a rational, fact-based site. He’s still repeating the mantra like a parrot, seemingly oblivious to the contradictions.
The whole “back when LGF was conservative” is just ridiculous. I know it’s been hashed out here before but how on Earth can you hold a strong PUBLIC position on something as serious as the threat of rising militant Islam in your early 50s and then forsake that opinion completely by your mid-50s AND while trying to hide said position by deleting and editng previous opinionated posts ALL WHILE insulting and deriding those who still hold the opinion you used to hold (and are now trying to hide)?
The psycho-analysis has all been done here before so I won’t bother but it’s pretty obvious there are issues of ego, pettiness, pig-headedness and in my opinion a mean streak a mile wide.
BTW- this place is a lot of fun which is way more than you can say for LGF these days. I look forward to spending more time here and on Blogmocracy where I will certainly consider hitting the tip-jar as no one here appears to be chasing me from thread to thread trying to escalate arguments into blockable offenses.

People who are in the grip of real madness are always oblivious to their own delusions and fantasies. If he could see himself as he is, he would have a line to clutch and try to drag himself to sanity. He’s very far away from such a mental place.
My kingdom for an interview with his first wife, the divorce with whom sent him into a psychic death-spiral that was only temporarily postponed by 9/11, and the flash of clarity it provided not just for him, but for millions of mush-headed liberals. The clarity didn’t last for many of them, sadly.
Gosh I got banned for pointing out that Charles is a hypocrite, his blog is liberal and pro-Islam, and the host is a hostile jerk.
Did I get any facts wrong there? I didn’t think it was necessary to actually provide specific backup as my assertions were all common knowledge.

“You believe in something I don’t believe in, therefore everything you believe in is wrong.” I’m amazed at how many different ways Chuck can rephrase that sentiment.
Like the time that he dismissed Dr. Roy Spencer’s climatological work by saying that Spencer is a creationist.
There’s a few links missing in that chain.
He is describing what other sites would be like if the owner banned anyone who disagreed with their position, questioned the facts being used and strategically copied and pasted articles to attack people. Thankfully the “right wing” sites actually encourage discussion and learning on various issues.

This comment best illustrates the North Koreaesque life over there: Chuck makes a declaration, facts be damned or deleted, and all must fall in line or face the wrath of Dear Leader and his band of attack dogs. In fact, a comment such as this probably (I haven’t looked) led a rash of “you are the greatest” comments from the sycophants as they try to outdo each other with their praise of him and his cult of personality, and places him and his followers (in their mind) as victims of others who fail to see how awesome he is. Also, the never ending series of purges, revisions of history (hence the “I was lied to” defense to justify him dumping old threads), and threads that now resemble swiss cheese, and you have what happened in the Soviet Union when somebody “disappeared”.
Seriously, this dude is so far gone, even Kos/TPM/HuffPo/DU/MediaMatters/ThinkProgress/CNN/MSNBC won’t have him.
