Duh! Advertise on LGF!

October 28, 2010

I wonder, has anyone over here ever clicked on this:

Anyway, as a result of the topic in the thread downstairs, I became a little curious.    Now, by clicking it, I expected to be taken deeper into the lizard hole, perhaps even to the Denver airport or whatever.  But the click actually takes you here:

It’s an ad creator!  Upload an image, use html links, etc. pretty much everything we need for a 150 x 200 spot on the top of every page.  Super easy.

Even better, we can change it at any time, so we could put together all kinds of neat stuff and swap ‘em in there daily if we wanted to.

So, all we need to do is decide what to put up there, what to link back to, and how to pay for it*.

 Thoughts?

*I figured that with the vast legion of banned netizens and other LGF antagonists out there, we could scrape together $250 pretty quickly if we got the word out.  Maybe more?  Or, should I just buy it and hope for some tips in my PayPal jar?   I could really have some fun with it!

Hey I would be in for a few dollars….
    Question:
If I pay for an ad on LGF but also pay $0.33 /day (less then the cheapest cup of Joe at Starbucks) to subscribe with the ads turned off how will I ever see the ad?

I mean, does it seem silly to sell ads while simultaneously offering your most devoted readers (ie. the people who would actually subscribe (LOL)the enticement of not having to actually see the ads that others are paying for?
I dunno, it might make me think twice about buying ad space there. Chuck wants to simultaneously be broadcast and cable TV.

Interestingly, Killgore commented on this before anyone here. Lurkers everywhere, I tell ya.

And I noticed they shut up about it once DF realized that it was me.

    heh

Well, I think someone should let Blogads know that LGF is not the site it once was. They still say “One of the most popular blogs in the US; more than 2M pageviews a month, and 5-10,000 comments a day.” in their description of LGF.

The site you advertise on has to approve the ad. They can reject it and your money takes a while to be refunded.

Everything about LGF is fake nowadays. Even his stats.

O.K. diving back into the tank again…..

  5. October 29, 2010 at 1:05 am | #5

Now this is FUNNY! We could put up an ad for people who want to leave the cult at LGF!

It’ll be a cold day in hell before I advertise my own blog there; I get enough trolls as it is, and I don’t want to spend my own money to get more!

The Stalkers are not noted for their grasp of reality.

    “grasp of reality” huh?

This is from someone who plays with plastic robots all day Saturdays with a bunch other adults who have no life. Yeah, that is grasping reality! :)

    Internet Septic Tank Engineer :

The site you advertise on has to approve the ad. They can reject it and your money takes a while to be refunded.

That’s one of the points of this thread. We see the ads from Palin and Beck and everything else you would think CJ would reject, yet there they are. Money is money, I guess. So, I thought it’d be fun to see just how far away the line is.

It’s all kind of a win-win. If it’s rejected, oh well, I made an interesting thread. If not, you can bet I’m gonna get us our $250 worth.

This is a blog war, after all, and as a seasoned blog warrior with a reputation for pulling some rather odd stunts, this is the kind of idea that I find very enticing. In fact, I’m sitting here wondering if it’s worth $250 just on my own. It’d be legendary.

I get it now, like a sort of “How low will you go for $250″
      :)

Yeah! see how low he will go for $150. He will say he is laughing at us and just taking the money.

Would be more appropriate for Chuckles the Failed Pony-Tailed Jazz Man ™

Appropos of nothing, but I don’t know if this was mentioned elsewhere, and since Kurt and R3gg-1-e lurk here:

When Obama hosted the progressive bloggers a few days ago, notice that Fatboy was not there, but who was invited? Of all of the invitees, the funniest had to be Oliver “Filet O’ Fish” Willis, a man who has to work hard to upgrade to stupid.

If Fatboy is passed over by his new team in favor of one of the most idiotic bloggers out there for a visit with Captain Awesome, how low has he sunk? That “Fries with that” crack might be more appropriate than ever if that is the case.

As tempting as this might be, and as much as I’d love to see Chunky squirm from a pro-DoD ad, I’m getting too much “freudenschade” from his desperate pleas for money to do anything to alleviate his financial suffering.

That is how I see it. Imagine how much money he’d hav made if he’d done the $10 a month thing in, say, 2005. Oh, that has to burn! Now he can’t rack up enough a month to keep him in beer, let alone those other fancy chemicals he is ingesting…

THAT is worth a thread on its own.
Charles Johnson expounding on Obama’s “shockingly racist anti-white attitudes.”

To go along with it, it would be nice to find one of the shrieking chubbo’s hysterical threads attacking Glenn Beck for suggesting Obama is racist.

All you have to do to back this up is look at Freep – Jim Rob raises $94,000 every quarter and his supporters are huge monthly subscribers. Chunky could have lived very well on monthlies when he still had a conscience. I certainly would have subscribed to keep the blog going. If either the Blogmocracy or DoD wanted monthly subscribers, I’d certainly do my part.

This is hilarious. I read on the previous thread, someone opining about being able to make changes to the ad on the fly.

This is bringing tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

And now Chunk is lambasting Pam Geller for a typo in her blog.

Wow Chunk – you’ve never made a typo?

You are such a juvenile idiot, but you are the only one who hasn’t figured this out yet.

    Jealous much?

    • wolfie
      October 29, 2010 at 2:28 pm | #28

She’s always been careless about typos; but then, in her defense, she leads a very full and busy life and probably doesn’t have the time to proofread everything.

The shrieking chubbo, OTOH, has more than enough time on his hands to proofread the whole wingnut interwebs!!! Hours and hours. Days and days.

Right, Chucky? (He’s proofreading us too, of course.)

I have to say that Lewd Pig’s screed last night explaining to the “unwashed masses” just exactly where the “problems” in American Society lay is one of the most self-absorbed, shallow and immature assessments I have seen in a while.

Hey Mr. Know-It-All, I would like to see you survive one week with out the “average dolts” and “rubes” you so easily dismiss as garbage.

You should get off the internet for about 15 years until you grow up.

And Chunky, for you to post crap like this exemplifies why your readership has dropped like a ton of hot shit.

    You people are truly disgusting.

Luddy is an elitist whiner. He’s just as intolerant as those he defames at every turn, and is at least as bad as the fascists/communists of the last century that claimed to be working in the best interests of the people – as long as they stayed in line. Step out of line and, well, 100 million lost souls later, what does it matter? If you want to make an omelette you got to break some eggs. Right Luddy? We all know that if you had even half a chance you’d establish your own dictatorship to save the world from the (phantom) menace of global warming – but really it would be just an excuse to consolidate power in the hands of the few.

Hey what’s new over there today? What? Another lame Pamela Geller thread??? Good lord Chuck, is that the best you can come up with? Hilarious!!! You must have been really, really smitten and head-over-heels for her before she jilted you. I mean, to obsess like you have is a little pathological, don’t you think? Talk about stalking!

Chunky’s Geller threads are nothing more than blog masturbation. That way if and when Pam mentions him on her blog, he can pretend he has a relationship with her.

wow. I just got one of those computer calls (that I have been getting for two weeks now) where some ass wipe tape recording tries to convince me to vote this way or that.

And now, this call was from “Barack Obama”. I listened just long enough to see if it sounded like him. And, it did.

Yes, President Dumbass. This is your job to place phone calls on behalf of idiot Democrat Senators poised to lose.

    God help us all.
