Chuck makes the Top 10 list of influential blogs

November 1, 2010

This really makes no sense. His traffic has collapsed and his comments numbers are low. Yet somehow Investror Business Daily lists LGF as the number 9 political blog!

This  will just boost his delsuions of grandeur! WHoever puts LGF as a top 10 influential blog must really be smoking something!

This has to be a joke!

Read carefully. These were raked from an initial secret list that was chosen subjectively.

IOW, this don’t mean jack poo.

      November 1, 2010 at 7:02 pm | #4

The list was ‘subjective’ (like you say). The ranking is based on best estiamtes of traffic. LGF beats out ‘balloon juice” (whatever that blog is). And CJ probably is cheating to achieve that. The myriad, vanity, ‘mini-blogs’ LGF now hosts is one way to pump up traffic for sure, but for sure it’s not the same type of traffic the other blogs on the list are getting.

The operative word is “influential”. At one time lgf was; now it rests on past laurels

More influential than Breitbart? Oh please.

      November 1, 2010 at 7:00 pm | #7

I think they’re taking a very narrow definition of “blog”.

But why wasn’t “Atlas Shrugged” on the short list?

      • November 1, 2010 at 8:21 pm | #8

And where’s Jihad Watch? They get a LOT more traffic than the Chucklehead.

  5. Arachne
    November 1, 2010 at 6:49 pm | #9

And has anyone ever heard of balloon-juice.com?

    • November 1, 2010 at 8:22 pm | #10

I’ve heard of it in passing. Went to look at it awhile back; didn’t see anything worthy of note.

Don’t worry, the average IBD reader will perhaps click on the blog and once they realize where it’s coming from, run for the hills. I can’t see the business/investor class going there regularly for news and opinion.

Yeah why would they go there? Charles has 0 interest in the economy or financial matters except to be all for any socialist boondoggle that drives up business costs and overburdens the taxpayer.

Um, let’s see….Huffington Post, Atlas Shrugs, Politico? Who made this list?

    • My Little Ponytail
      November 1, 2010 at 7:05 pm | #18

Again, it comes down to a narrow definition of “blog”. Only one of those three is a blog, the others are more like aggregators. Where’s PJM?

    • November 1, 2010 at 8:24 pm | #19

HuffPo was probably excluded because it’s funded by the money that the skank whore Arianna Huffington got from her husband, after they divorced because he turned out to be gay. That’s probably considered “foundation money”.

Of some note: this is referring to the historical lgf.

    /it isn’t a present day citing.

I’m sure Chunky reads this and still thinks he’s relevant. So where are the clamors for your participation in this election season, Chunky? No one’s calling you to provide your incisive political analysis. You’d think after all the ass-kissing you’ve done lately to Osama bin Olberman, Rachel Madcow and cBS of late, those butt puckerups would have paid off somehow.

That’s what I was thinking. Historically, lgf has had an influence on politics and other bloggers. Today, it is of course irrelevant. On Wikio’s list of top political blogs , it’s not even in the top 100.

Yes, I’d have to say that Chuck does not belong anywhere near the vacinity of Powerline – those guys actually write coherent, well-thought out opinions, and while I or anyone else may not agree with them, I haven’t seen them simply post a link and then just reach for the Dictionary of Invective and Hyperbole, 1st Edition, to find enough words to fill a couple of sentences or two.

But, but,….IBD is a wingnut capitalist site opposed to Obamacare, the porkulus, the financial “reform” bill, the nationalization of student loans, the failure to extend the Bush tax cuts, the acceleration of debt, the vast increase in nanny-state regulation of employers, continued federal distortion of mortgage markets, and the whole Obama agenda.
They uniformly support limited government, lower taxes, and fiscal restraint. Fact is, they are indistinguishable from (shudder!) Tea Partiers, which by the shrieking chubbo’s standards would make them raaaacist, if not outright Tennesseans.

They did say they were subjectively chosen and then ranked by traffic. The choices appear to want to make both the left and the right happy but the left a little happier by making the Koz travesty A-#1 tops over all. They all seem to also have some specific claim to fame such as breaking and/or developing a major story. LGF’s is the Rather story which is rich because if it happened today he would be mocking those running with it and declaring it a bad crazy nonstory.

Even funnier…IBD is notoriously anti Islam and anti-jihad

It’s neat that a couple years ago half the blogs on that list were “hate sites”, and now the other half are “hate sites” also. And it’s exciting and perfectly okay to celebrate being included in that top ten list of “hate sites.”

You know damn well if Pam would have been on that list, he would be having his internet tantrum.
