CJ’s Ongoing War With Wikipedia

November 5, 2010

I’m going to come right out and say that I’d prefer that the wikipedia entries -no matter who or what- remain as truthful, comprehensive, and neutral as possible.  I like wikipedia.  I consider it childish to go over and vandalize it.   And in the past (back when it was “moonbats”), CJ has had to deal with some stuff on his and LGFs entry that would probably fit that description.  Perhaps CJ came off as just a wee-bit pissed…

It’s very likely that this latest idiot is the same person who used our contact form yesterday, after being blocked from posting at LGF (for advocating violence), to send me an obscene message—then used it again a few minutes later pretending to be a different person, “concerned” about the “censorship” at LGF.

Unfortunately for this creep, when he used the contact form I learned that he was sending his hate messages with an account at the University of Houston. The UH abuse department now has all of his details, including IP address, time, user agent, and host name. Since this kind of harassment is illegal, he’s going to find himself in hot water for this scummy behavior.

….but it might be understandable.

Now I really don’t know who has been involved over at the wiki site as of late (so for our lurkers, it wasn’t me), but the  difference with the old wiki wars and the new one is obvious.   What has been added, then subsequently deleted, is essentially the truth.   CJ has never denied that he’s memory holed any of the threads. In fact, he’s admitted deleting the Flight 93 Memorial threads and had a dedicated thread about being caught scrubbing text.  So what the heck is this all about:

OK first off, it takes some gall to call a wikipedia editor a stalker and announce that you’ve tracked 6 IP addresses for them…in the same comment.   Think about it.

Besides, this guy is right; the “paranoid right wing hate speech” is exactly what CJ denounced in the big “Parting Ways” thread, and is pretty much what went down the memory hole (in fact, he referred to the conspiracy theorists on the Flight 93 Memorial as “loons”, and Pam Geller is mentioned specifically in “Parting Ways”).  The inclusion is certainly relevant within the scope of LGF for a wiki page, since the site’s content has been changed to more conveniently fit this new meme.  It is worth mentioning, for those interested in the real truth about LGF, and not just CJ’s hard-fought version of it.

I would think that CJ doesn’t want it on there because it looks bad for his credibility, and because he deleted those threads so that they would not be mentioned ever again.   So, I’m curious as to why he would post this:

Sure!  Better yet, let’s have a trial!   I’ve got exhibit A thru …um…wait, how many letters are in the alphabet?

Seriously though, the wiki page should have the fact that the internet archives are now blocked, that google caches are now redirected,  the lgf dictionary, and this friendly lizard/ “LGF Operative” types are now worst enemies dynamic.  You’ve got blocks of time where the same “minions” greeted visitors, so prominent contributors should also be included as a section.  These are all things that happened and are unique to that site, and to the people who went there.  It’s not CJ’s history to write.

    Good points, Minotaur.
Question- what is illegal about sending him e-mails?

….”to send me an obscene message”….Once again…..the illusive “obscene message/death threat/horrid horrid thing they wrote”….Which he, as usual, he doesn’t feel it necessary to reproduce for anyone to decide for themselves…The Internet is crowded with people who’ve published rebuttals to this accusation which he makes against them in a forum where they can’t respond directly. What they sent him is invariable benign and harmless to anybody but a whining paranoid freak.

Anyway it will be good material for the new improved Wiki. Ice and Jimmah are lending a hand with my little contribution. I hope to have a couple more on board soon…

I think I saw Peggy Noonan write today that sleazy weasels were “sleazels.” I wonder if she reads DoD? ;-)

I thought that was just my imagination.

We’re not sure how many letters there are left in the alphabet. Letters F and M went down the memory hole for sure, and there is a series of other letters just waiting to flounce. Letter H for example, is getting really uppity.

Wikipedia and that “proof required” etc bullshit.

Charles is deleting and hiding his past. FACT!

The proof is 10.9Gb of Charles bullshit on three DVDs created in late September which have been notarized as to the date of creation and have been deposited in a bank vault which is also notarized as to the date of the deposit and not accessed since.

    Hey Charles, you are pwned…..

Delete everything. we got your back (up)

    ROTFLMAO at Chuckie.

P.S. Hey Charles, test the system. Delete something from your past and challenge me to recover it.

      game on!

Taking the wikipedia insanity public means a week of posts whining like an 8 year old that lost his favorite blankee.

Excellent article cz – keep us posted as it develops.

CJ doesn’t deny the truth of the matter, his argument was “it’s not fair” to mention his thread deletions and ex post facto edits unless the Wikipedia editors also investigate and mention all other blogs’ deletions and edits.

How juvenile, how devoid of journalistic integrity is all that – the original deletions and edits and the subsequent attempted coverup?

Is this gonna turn out like his ongoing war against Pam Gellar?

If the entire archive of LGF (Lewdy Gobbles Fatass) is in storage, as stated above, would it be feasible to create an entirely new site containing the material? Or even a directory in this fine blog, where you could access the truth at your leisure? ‘Cuz that would be the shit. :)

Titles of all the non-disappeared threads, with links back to LGF, are indexed on my site, one page per year, 2001-2009, if you’re looking to trip back down memory lane.

      Here’s the 2006 threads for example: http://sites.google.com/site/nilstooge/lgf/disappeared/2006

There are also links there to deleted threads, recovered by ChenZhen and Possum, in context.

I’m pleased to see that the former entry about him supporting the victims of hurricane Katrina has been removed. The truth is, he told the readers concerned with that effort to “Take it elsewhere” and banned them.

I don’t even know what the fuck “I may have to take this Wikipedia insanity public!” is supposed to mean. Is he going to hold a press conference to alert the public about the “menace” posed by this website where ruffians and mongrels are allowed to publish whatever they please? LOL!

If he means he has something embarrassing to say about one of the editors, i don’t know if he could possibly come back with anything which would make them look worse than he does. One of the editors there has made a compelling case that Charles was the one who was deleting stuff from the page. I don’t think that’s allowed.

    • November 6, 2010 at 10:10 am | #20

I don’t have a Wikipedia account and I have yet to go on there to edit anything, so I am not speaking from first-hand knowledge here. But awhile back I did read Wikipedia’s policies.

If I remember correctly, you aren’t supposed to go in and directly delete stuff from, or otherwise mess with, a page that is about yourself. If you become aware of some demonstrably false information on a page that is about yourself, there is some other procedure that you should follow to get it corrected.

Having a Wikipedia page about yourself is pretty much a mixed blessing. You don’t get any real control over what is on there, and unless you have lived a truly exemplary life and/or have no adversaries whatsoever, any and all of your dirty laundry could end up on it.

Right and his argument that it’s not fair is specious. How many political blogs, if they’re deleting or changing anything are doing so because they’re trying to change their stripes and be something 180 degrees from what made them famous?

    Six IP addresses? Biiiig deal!

I use a lot more than that, not because I’m a sock, but because my Internet service provider (ISP) randomly assigns different IP addresses to me when I log on. The address depends on what’s available in its IP address pool at that time. Not everybody has a permanent IP address these days.

If CJ were truly the techie geek that he pretends to be, he would know this!

    • Mashiki
      November 5, 2010 at 3:14 pm | #24

Some ISP’s don’t even have that, they assign an internal IP address based on a local NAT hub.

IP addresses are scarce, last I heard we have a bout 8mo worth left providing companies that hold the big-blocks don’t release them. The last company that did, extended the deadline by 2mo.

I’ve been lucky I might get a new IP address once very 6-15 months, which means I don’t need to use anything like dyn.dns. But for everyone else? Wait for IPv6 to come out. Just think of having an address like this:2001:db8:85a3:8d3:1319:8a2e:370:7348 woo!

Yea. I think that’s just how PPOE works. And how Wikipedia works. You don’t need an account to edit, so when an unregistered user makes an edit, he is identified by his IP address. Worse for his little insinuation, is that if this is the user he’s talking about, he registered already and put a big disclaimer on his user home page saying “these are all the IPs which belong to me” so he’s obviously not trying to hide anything.
