Prophet Killgore Trout speaks

November 16, 2010

There’s no Blog God except Chuck and Killgore Trout is his prophet! Killgore is one of the most ignorant posters ever seen on the internet. He now claims that if Body scanners and pat downs are done away with, we will go back to pre-9/11 security.

Stick to fixing Violins, predictions aren’t your specialties.

Is Killgore Trout personally planning to make and use such an underpants bomb? If not, how would he know it’s gonna happen?

Even if we can all agree that there is an unmet need for more security, the way this was rolled out defines the word “fiasco”. And there’s that other issue that was settled in the minds of the political ruling class but never settled in the minds of the public: why TF are they patting down old nuns and little kids when the problem is exclusively muslims?

Neither the pat downs nor the scanners would, in all likelihood, have detected the underwear bomber. A simple coordination of lists between agencies, and adherence to the rules that did not permit someone buying a one-way ticket with no luggage, whose family had tried to inform on him to thwart his efforts, would have.

And, if the pat downs would have prevented another underwear bomber, why has it taken almost a year for the TSA to put such procedures in place? Given their glacial response time, if this were a necessary move there would have been thousands of planes potentially being blown out of the sky ere now.

Frankly, the whole crackdown theatre, coming as it does post-election, smacks either of the Administration taking revenge on the populace in the form of humiliation, of the Administration having held up imposing these new rules until after the election in the expectation that they would cause a backlash in November, or both.

Buzz, I hate to say it, but your last paragraph is exactly what I thought when this whole thing started coming to a head.

Precisely, one has to wonder, if this was the antidote post the failed underwear bombing, why did it take almost a year to come to fruition? You would think this is such an elementary plan, no panel, committee, or federally funded group of supposed experts would need more than a 15 minute smoke break to hatch this plan.

As for the “don’t touch my junk” guy, it seems they have enough time to investigate him now, but obvious threats still fall off of the radar.

I truly don’t like going out on that branch, thinking the top brass could be this petty, but after seeing 2 years of the little taunts, gestures, and symbolic maneuvers, I just can’t rationalize anything less.

Oh, Killgore is just all excited that finally someone will grope him. What a disgusting old loser!

See this article from Hotair to answer your questions. The Obama Administration is desperately attempting to eliminate the fourth amendment to the constitution.

Former TSA security director: No one likes Fourth Amendment violations, but we’re going to have to do it

I saw that video. The guy’s an idiot, on his best day.

How did we get here in America, a place where stupidity reigns supreme? What we have in our airports now is mystery security theater 3000, and not actual security. The Israelis pat no one down. They don’t have the invasive procedures complete with prohibition against personal hygeine products. People are free to wear clothing, including underwear and shoes. They ask 3 questions, making eye contact with the passenger, and if they so decide, may ask five more or so. I would feel safer on their planes than ours, any day of the week. Here is the rub, they employ undercover air marshals, and have no allegience to political correctness.

Among other things, yes. Heavy on the psychology. I don’t think we could find that many psych majors without ruining the pizza delivery industry.

Exactly. I’d love to see ANY airline somehow adopt Israel’s approach to air safety. I’d have no concerns at all about flying on that carrier.

Maybe if everyone was required to wear a straitjacket while on board…

And their Air Marshals probable aren’t easily identifiable.

Definitely. And they make it very clear, that when in doubt, they shoot first and ask questions later.

And contrary to internet rumors, you can shoot bullets through the fuselage without causing the plane to come apart.

All of the above that was mentioned by you two is true. The point is that it works, without the hysteria. It is not a question of violate the 4th amendment or have no safety. It is a question of give up on this assinine political correctness or have no safety. What we have now is security theater, with no more safety than if we just quit looking.

without profiling the only way to keep me safe (on the ground) is to make sure those who could take over the plane have no means. This is the most insane discussion that has hit the country in a long time. If you do not want intrusive checks DO NOT FLY. If you don’t want checked for dope or recording equipment, do not go to a concert…I have been patted down at sporting events, entering court houses, and many other venues and people are whining about being checked for getting on a plane?

Walk to you destination, that is your only right, every other form of transportation is a privilege.

    • November 17, 2010 at 9:50 am | #17

      I’d agree… don’t fly.

But when they give muslim women the only exceptions… yeah it’ll only be muzzies on the plane.

      Fuck that.

The best answer is of course in your own statement. Profiling is what we are all advocating. This conversation is not idiotic. The comments have been pretty well thought out and concise. These molestations are not making anything more secure. Profiling has been proven to work time and time again. Just ask the Israelis, who have the safest air travel system in the world, and no where near what our passengers face. What is idiotic is your insistance on following a system which has been a proven failure in order to pretend that a 3 year old little girl is as likely to commit an act of terrorism as the 18 to 47 year old Muslim chanting Allahu Akhbar.
