The End
Well, we’re in deep shit. The experts have spoken.

According to the consensus of prophets, billions will die.
That’s quite a compendium of links to left-wing sites there (yes, I noticed half were links to the extreme left-wing LFG).

Ok, you can talk about weenies with your little LFG buddies, but back to that world-is-coming-to-an-end thing. Splain this one:
The consequences to sea level are that we are looking at a two meter rise in ocean levels being likely by the year 2100. That means New York, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, large parts of LA, London, Tokyo and more simply gone.
It means close to 200 million people without homes or businesses.
On the one hand, this is progress. We’ve gone from 200 feet to 2 meters. 2 meters is still on the far high end of the estimates, but it’s not insane like 200 feet was. But that creates another problem. Specifically,
a two meter rise in ocean levels being likely by the year 2100. That means New York, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, large parts of LA, London, Tokyo and more simply gone.
Two things.
1. Have you ever been to New York, you frakking moron??? The highest point on Manhattan island is something like 260 feet above sea level. Most of the island is lower and flatter than that, but it’s well above 2 meters above mean high tide.
2. Cities like New Orleans and Amsterdam that find themselves under sea level because they were stupid places to put cities in the first place build dikes and pumps.
3. Do you think the people in flyover country who are the only ones who matter give a rats derrière what happens to all you hippy dippy left wing lunatic dreg drags on society who occupy the coastal cities in the blue states that are all full of losers who elect Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown for governor? A second frakking time? I mean WTF. You deserve to die.

But don’t get too excited. It’s not going to happen.

Really, take some Valium. It’ll be ok.

How long are they going to try to push this bullshit?
The thing they simply ignore is that no matter what we do, everyone that is reading their post – and the rest of humanity that is not reading it – is going to die, sometime. People that are pushing this, as well as a lot of health food freaks, secretly think that if they do just the right thing, they are not going to die. It’s not true, you start dying the moment you are born.
From Fight Club and zero hedge “On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero”.
No one gets out of here alive…
This is the end, unless maybe we turn the lights down…
The problem with AGW is that they have reached a conclusion that now only gather evidence to support it. Where are all the hurricanes? Why is polar bear population increasing? Why the HELL is it 35 degrees overnight here in Northern California in November when that’s the normal temperature for January?
The website http://www.climateaudit.org has documented those attempts at fabricating this evidence.
I also recommend “ClimateGate” by Brian Sussman, my current book du jour.
The original climategate book was by Steve Mosher; that’s worth reading because he was an insider.

Esp. if you’re dumb enough to stand there for 75 years as the water laps at your ankles. And all of this is so huge and so immediate that we of course see no evidence of it in daily life. You can only see it in tree rings or plankton studies. Our Earth’s climate is warming which is why there’s been no statisically significant warming in like 15 years according to their own researchers: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1250872/Climategate-U-turn-Astonishment-scientist-centre-global-warming-email-row-admits-data-organised.html
Hmmm. If he’s right, I predict a construction boom. On slightly higher coastal real estate. How much to build 7 foot higher dikes in NOLA and Amsterdam?
What a fool.
Last time I counted, this will be Moonbeam’s third term as California’s Governor. Because those same hippies elected him, California will now get its richly-deserved just desserts.
What’s going to screw Ol’ Jer is that the first time he was elected governor, Ronald Reagan had left office with a $5 billion surplus that not only did Jerry squander, but left a $1 billion deficit in his wake when he left office. Jerry doesn’t know how to FIX California; he only knows how to BREAK it. I’m sure he was counting on a nice hefty bailout and no Republican Congress is going to give him one. As a result, he and the Democrat majority legislature are going to have a real problem. They cannot raise taxes or fees without a 2/3 majority, and you can be real sure the Republicans aren’t going to help them.
This guy is on Coke. What teh hell is he talking about? Man this guy is crazy!
Note the structure of the argument:
10. [Link to left-wing advocacy site]
20. [Excerpt]
30. [Shrieking exhortation]
40. [Cursing out of [Pick one: (Nazis, racists, homophobes, climate deniers, baby killers, Gaia rapists, [other pejorative term for someone who opposes Marxism])]
50 Goto 10.
Note too that he argues that inadequate models are somehow prima facie evidence that things will only get even worse than the inadequate models predict.
He’s a tool.
Actually, the papers are all posit that, he’s just citing them as authoritative. That’s called argument from authority. Not to mention cherry picking.
This is what happens when “research” consists of google searches.
This guy is Kaczynski’s twin.
Ludwig’s AGW Manifesto.
Ugh. I hadn’t been to the cesspool of hyperbole and intolerance in several weeks but had to venture over after seeing this, to maybe post something to tweak Luddite’s nose. Alas, only five comments so not really worth it. Unfortunately, now I feel all dirty and cheap and won’t be able to take a shower for several more hours!
Funny how all the global warming whackjobs all advocate for the same thing – a (nother) massive transfer of wealth and sovereignty from the individual and the private sector to the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-caring government and NGO’s. Because, you know, that’s worked out so well so far.
I will say that when you live in a sheltered world like academia, either coast, or safely ensconced in a cushy government job, you do tend to adopt opinions and thinking of everyone around you and that keeps that corporate structure alive and growing. Independent thinking isn’t exactly encouraged, or rewarded, so at least in that respect he’s only just as dumb as everyone around him.
The whole environmental movement is in place to accomplish the social engineering that the wackos cannot obtain through regular legislative and judicial means. Regulate and force others to behave in the manner THEY deem appropriate.
But really, people on the whole do the right thing. We all put our recycling in the appropriate container, we pick up litter (which, apparently, the envirowhackos and libturds don’t do at their own rallies) and we don’t waste. But put my back to the wall (like that national “lights out hour” every year), and every light in my house is turned on and I burn a Duraflame in the fireplace. While BBQ’ing.
Heh….AGW Rage Boy = Ludwig von Manbearpig
Is it ‘Prophet Al Gore’ or ‘Profit Al Gore’.
Heheheh…what a tool, indeed. Rage Boy is the perfect image to personify his AGW-crazybone. The irony, that the Fatass sees this little ‘tard as the Final Word on the subject, along with the laughably-uneducated Peter Sinclair, while braying all the time about “science-deniers” and “flat-earthers’…well, you’d need a lumberman’s chainsaw to even make a dent in it.
That pretty well sums it up. They’re all passing these talking points around like bongs and huffing the stuff, without any idea what the real points of contention are. Most of what they “debunk” are straw men (and make mo mistake, there’s a not insignificant amount of skeptical junk science floating around the internet also, so a significant amount of their debunking is legit, but even that is a form of straw man).
But I don’t know that there’s anyone there who could correctly define “climate sensitivity” or explain feedback off the tops of their heads.
Of course, Luddite is siding with Usama ibn Laden in this…
(Except that Usama is convinced that AGW is a result of Kufr and Shirk…)
There is a very good reason why all the AGW freaks are stepping up the screeching and the rhetoric. I don’t think it is yet at fever-pitch either. What would any of us do if our very livelihood were at stake? Especially when the livelihood in question was a fraud, and a horrifying prospect of having to actually EARN a living loomed ahead? They know that soon enough the feeding trough will dry up, so they are freaking out.
That is a good point. Given the fiscal mess we are in all the taxpayer funded spending that supports raving lunies like Luddite will be disappearing faster than green beer on St. Patrick’s Day. Will be fun to watch.
Yeah, because that Carbon Trading market’s going like gangbusters! Plus all those green jobs in Cailfornia….oh wait, the solar panel company in Fremont is abandoning plans for expansion and also cutting jobs at the current plant.
