Intervention: Ending the Pam Obsession

November 19, 2010

I’ve made it no secret around here that I’m not a Pamela Geller fan. For those who remember me from LGF and my own blog, this is probably no surprise.  So, yea, I always considered the stuff like that bird flip, the bikini vlog rants, the “my sharia” music video, and the myriad of klaxon-like posts to be from someone who was a little out there (and not necessarily in a good way).  In fact, I’ve mocked her a bit myself.

So you’d think I’d find this funny:

But not so much.  Why?

Do the math, and over the past year, Pamela Geller gets mentioned on the LGF front page an average of 10 times per month (doesn’t include “LGF Pages”). The “Shrieking Harpy” tag pulls up 37 threads alone. CJ even made a rare trip outside and went international, penning a Pam-dedicated (and laughably misleading) column at the Guardian.  And now, we see a bright header on the front page that features a grotesque caricature of her with a link to a little mocking machine….

I’m sure I don’t need to say it.

But the reason it loses the funny is that I see it in the context of what has been said in the past and all the weaselly twisting and conveniently omitting and memory holing today.  For those who have watched this unfold, it comes across as more than a bit, well, personal.

And that brings up the worst part. At LGF you’ve got this cult atmosphere, and within it a small but regular group of LGFers who know what I’m talking about; the Killgores, the lawhawks, the Thanos’… too scared to downding a comment let alone call him on any of it.  And a Grand Lizardoid comfortable enough with the intimidation level that is cast to just keep on doing it.

It just ain’t right.  And we should help.

So, my DoD minions, this is what we can do: Any blog or website that links to the rant generator gets a visit from us. Go ahead, use the LGF referrer page. And when we go to the comment sections, we go Al Gore style…with the inconvenient truth:

http://diaryofdaedalus.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/lgf-blogdaddy1.jpg

http://diaryofdaedalus.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/cj-geller3.jpg

Feel free to use any of the above links. Also, as a handy reminder, here was the Atlas “hat tip”, and here is the screencap from the memory hole.

At home here at DoD, I say for every time CJ decorates his front page with this:

We post this (and tweet it a few times):

Dang. For a moment there, it looks as though selrahC is about to say “Fuck Me Pamela!”

I always wondered what Ms. Sheehan’s reaction to Ms. Geller’s #1 Gesture (which I always gave to the STO or the Picon Panthers) was!

Chen, at least you are fair. You might think that Pam Geller is a gibbering idiot, (a big difference from being a “shrieking harpy”), but the LGF obsession with her is quite bizarre. The lady in question handles selrahC’s obsession in a very classy fashion. She does not acknowlege it at all. The “shrieking harpy” gets mentioned 10 times a month on LGF, I think that “Little Green Sickballs” has had but one miserable mention on Atlas Shrugs in the past year. CJ must be infuriated no end.

Question. What epithet have they given Robert Spencer, and does the same amount of ineffectual vitriol get flung in his general direction? Surely, if this was an ideological war, CJ would recognise him as the more formidable opponent? But if he goes on about the “Shrieking Harpy”, and he ignores Spencer, one must assume that his obsession with Pamela is not ideological and we can have hours of fun speculating on the “root causes” of his Pam phobia.

The difference between chuck’s opinion of Pam and Robert is based upon the fact that Pam is a woman.Chuck is a misogynist Robert, he condemns and moves on, Pam he obsesses on. There is also a suggestion out there that she rejected him at one point.

“The difference between chuck’s opinion of Pam and Robert is based upon the fact that Pam is a woman.”

And a young, attractive woman. It’s rather like the obsession with Sarah Palin. The sexual overtones in the attacks are pretty hard to deny.

I am not a huge Geller fan (although I do admire her courage). Charles’s obsession with her bespeaks of a frustrated man.

Johnson’s jealousy over the rise of the Geller/Spencer alliance and the media attention it gets is rapidly eating up his last remaining firing synapses. Hopefully he doesn’t have many left and one morning he gets up, pours coffee on his laptop and the World is once again safe for Democracy.

“Charles is my blogdaddy” – from the July 29, 2007 psot. Sad how that in less then three months from that post he would turn violently against her.

He couldn’t get any so he began to hate her!

Let me propose an alternate theory. Chuck never had anything in particular for Pam, but Unmatahari is a jealous type, so he has to keep trashing Pam to convince Unmatahari that it’s all over.

    I’ve seen it happen.

What does it say ab0ut Johnson’s judgment that all the people he now hates – Geller, Spencer, Iron Fist, reaganite, buzzsawmonkey et al are all the same people that they were in 2002 – to present and yet they were treasured posters? Was he fooled by all of them?

That’s what he says. He was duped. Of course, nobody believes that crap. Highly unlikely someone can be wrong about so many people. He just abandoned his principles and even worse, turned against those who supported him including Gellar. It’s a very unhealthy obsession he has with her.

“Highly unlikely someone can be wrong about so many people.”

A serious person, having rather suddenly ‘discovered’ he was completely wrong about so much and so many, would reflect on his own gullibility. He would be wary of immediately jumping onto new bandwagons. He would be circumspect about swallowing whole the canned positions of partisan sites.

But CJ is not by any stretch of the imagination a serious person.

The guy spent 7-8 years with the same delusions, having been duped on every issue. Then, Obama was elected, and overnight everything changed. Oh, and he was rejected by Pam. LOL!

He looks like he’s excited about shooting up in that last image. Is it possible that’s what we’re dealing with here? Maybe he’s beholden to a far-left pusher who gives him free hits in exchange for towing the party line.

Of course that theory runs “smack” up against his sudden and alarming weight gain…

You know, that is truly the interesting aspect of this whole crusade he is on.

I really don’t know much of the whole situation other than what I have read in the blog, but to go from appearing happily in pictures with her, to 3 months hating her does seem neurotic.

    Something more there.

I read the LGF post that introduced the rant generator. He credited Curious Lurker for drawing Pam’s caricature. Curious Lurker is a convert to Islam; she has mentioned it in her posts.

Looking at that image of Pam, something sticks out to me. (The entire image)

The image is derived from Ulisse Aldrovandi’s Monstrorum Historia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harpy

Thus, like so many times before, only befitting to be on LGF now, we can see this would fall under fauxtography.

Of course all the credit going to Charles for that terminology, given his staunch opposition to the practice.

Another interesting angle, and one that truly makes me think twice about what I am seeing with this picture, is the day on which Aldrovandi was born.

I’m sure it is all just a fucking coinidence.

Charles went on his normal crazy 6 degress of separation witchhunt on every poster on his blog. If you typed wrong you were banned. Pamela asked him to support her efforts in Brussels and he declined. And called her names. The divorce happened. Her associations were bad to him. Van Jones was ok later on. It’s just cultish BS for those who can see it. Those who stay there can’t. Charles does the same stuff he complains about. If lawhawk and thanos are still there they are pretty much fools being used. The moonies has their lawyers also. Amazing the psych strings people let themselves be pulled on.

Posting altered pictures gives people jollies sometimes. But done without an argument it carries little weight or appeal to me. I look at it as juvenile. There is a place for that but generally I read blogs to become better informed. And if a valid argument is actually made the fauxtography detracts from it and waters down the effort.

What we do notice at LGF is that the posters that left were the ones propping it up with some actual intelligence. After the exodus a lot of devolution has occurred at LGF. Maybe it’s time to break out the LVQ’s friend sock again. Charles blog is becoming like one of those tabloids that shows monkeys being born to humans. Not the enquirer, one or two steps down from that.
