Chuck thinks he caused Fox Nation to take down a story

The Jazz Man did a post today attacking Fox Nation for posting an Onion article about Barack Hussein Obama. He accuses them of misleading their readers by not stating it was fake. The website clearly links to the Onion, so everyone knew it was fake. But Chuck goes into smear merchant mode.
Chuck then implies that his post caused Fox Nation to take down the Onion article.
Chuck really believes he had something to do with Fox Nation taking down the article. Clearly this man is delusional about his influence.
I’m sure Fox KNEW they were linking to a satirical site. Everyone knows that about the Onion. If they didn’t specifically mention it, maybe they wanted to test readers IQs. Obviously Chuck thinks people don’t know what the Onion is and need it explained to them.

You’re right; anybody who has been on the intertoobz more, oh maybe than once or twice, already knows the Onion is satire. And they make fun of just about anything.

He’s got to be on some feed from somewhere. Either that, or he watches Fox 24/7 looking for something to pounce on. He can’t be that crazy, can he?

Yes the feed is a handy thing. Or maybe it was tweeted. With a couple tools it’s amazing how much ground one blogger can cover.
But CJ did not catch this one on Fox; maybe a feed about Fox. Example: the wordpress tag for this very thread “fox nation” goes to a page with a feed.

Not sure of your history with LGF. But your dislike of the writer has you seeing things that aren’t there. Johnson simply pointed out a Fox article that many others on the Web similarly took note of. From the comments following the Fox article, it was clear that a lot of Fox followers aren’t familiar with the Onion, and clearly thought the story was true. That Johnson later updated his post to, correctly, note that the story had been taken down doesn’t mean that he took credit for it.

Unless Johnson updated his “Fox follower comments” he had three ‘examples’ of quotes from “Fox followers”, none of which “clearly thought the story was true”, even though smear-merchant Johnson was clearly characterizing them that way.

I will admit that you didn’t take credit for the pulling down of the article, I read LGF long enough to know that when you thought ‘we’ were responsible for the pulling of an article/picture, you explicitly gave the LGF community the credit. I applaud your self knowledge that LGF has become irrelevant, it saddens me, I had fun over there, even when it changed, poking moonbats is a diversion I miss. It’s funny that moonbat sites ban posters who disagree, even if the disagreement is clean in nature. Heck, even your most prolific poste Lud poitned out the difference between LGF and Blogmocracy, allowing the world to see that Blogmocracy allows hundreds of comments that disagree with the top post to stand, most of the contrary posts made by posters who (gasp) still are allowed to post…
The personal knowledge that I was banned from your site for a single post that was out of line taught me more about the nature of the ‘progressive’ side of things than all the reading I have ever done. One can truly not posit arguments against progressives that make sense, if one does that, they resort to ad hominem and shutting down of the different…your site is the perfect example of that, thank you for the lesson.

It’s all about credible (or at least amusing and interesting, as with The Onion) content. If a blog or website has nothing of interest, it won’t get much traffic on ANY social media.
Chuckles is doing it wrong, because he has let the sins of pride, envy, and wrath (and some of the other sins as well) take over his blog.
It depends on what one is trying to accomplish – and what CJ is trying to accomplish is grandstanding.
I just have a little tiny blog – and sometimes I’m wrong about things, I’ll admit – but I try to cover things that don’t get enough exposure any place else. And I’m not a hater. I get a fairly consistent, and growing, number of readers, and I’m happy when I see my ideas picked up elsewhere, even without anybody crediting me for it.
It is NOT about me – not being a politician, I try to avoid attracting personal attention that might result in security risks for me and my family. It’s about the messages. Many of the messages are passed along to me from other people who are calling attention to an injustice somewhere that needs to be rectified.

You know, I never paid that close attention to Star Wars. I always saw it as just some movies, not a biting Analogy of Life As We Know It™, let alone all things in the Universe…
It’s not that they’re nerds although they are. They worship Star Wars at LGF because they know it was an allegory for the US/Vietnam conflict (this is according to Lucas). Luke and Hans Solo were actually fighting against a dominant but free society and evidently the Jedi’s were communist scum backed by totalitarian thugs which now explains why the “Empire” were trying to exterminate them. Guess they forgot to put that in the promo ads and movie posters.

Now he treats women like Geller and Palin as if they’re as whacked out when they clearly aren’t. For a long time people would say “I respect Charles but…” I don’t anyone says that anymore. He doesn’t deserve respect.
It often happens that people comment without realizing they’re reading satire – hell, it happens at Freep often, with links to AZConservative and Scrappleface. Intelligent satire is written in such a way that unless the individual knows it’s satire, it could well be true. And with this administration and Congress. the satire is more and more looking like the reality. But people sometimes do a kneejerk comment.
You know, Chunky, it’s like looking at a flag at a TEA Party rally and immediately thinking it’s full of Nazi symbolism without stopping to maybe look a little closer before shooting off one’s mouth.
And reading those comments, you can’t tell if people were going along with the joke or not.
Meanwhile, back in Pakistan, Osama plots American deaths. Nice to see Chuckles the clown knows what’s really important.

Back when Chuck linked to Iowahawk, he would put a satire tag on the post, but wouldn’t otherwise identify the piece as satire. Nubes would quite frequently take a while to get it.
So he’s in no position to criticize.
Iowahawk’s a frickin’ genius. I notice he quietly extricated himself from any affiliation with LGF when he realized it was becoming something similar to one of his parodies.
