So mentioning what’s on a Chinese Food menu is racist. That’s right, saying Hunan Rice is racist according to Chuck. Reading off a menu form a Chinese Restaurant is for a bigotry. This is a new standard according to The Race Detective.

One thing that stood out to me: they called paki a diminutive. I suspect they don’t know what a diminutive is, but never mind: they compared it to Yankee, which [i]is[/i] a diminutive, and canuck, which is a combination of canada and a typical sound from the languages spoken by native americans in that area, and hence more of a nickname.
Paki is an abbreviation of pakistani, like Brit is of British, or Scot is of Scottish. Some people take offence at it. Others don’t. Whether it is offensive is for those to whom it refers to decide, not some third party.
To me this highlights the basic contradiction of leftist thought: they want to “preserve” ethnic and regional cultures in the name of political correctness and cultural relativism, but they also want to prevent anyone from causing “offense” by making any words they deem “offensive” politically incorrect. Where this hits a snag is in areas where a different culture does not deem offensive those words the PC left have declared so. Areas where, for example, pakistanis refer to themselves as paki without any “racist” content or context, and take no offence when others do likewise.
In their drive to make everything PC these leftists override regional and ethnic cultures, pushing a globalisation of their own culture as superior, contradicting the idea they themselves hold of all cultures being equal.
