For LGF statistics fans, all three of you, your long wait is over. For everyone else, bear with me, I’ll be brief.

At first glance at the chart above, you might think that the rate of LGF’s decline, while spectacular at first, has been tapering off during the last year or two. But you’d be wrong.

By plotting the same data in a series of charts, each covering a different 18-month period and rescaled appropriately, we see that with Charles’ steady hand at the wheel, the rate of LGF’s decline has been remarkably constant for over 4 years:

The final chart shows the LGF daily comment counts, averaged by week, from Nov. 2008 through last Friday. The high point was the 2009 Inauguration. The two yellow circles mark the 2012 election and the Boston bombings.

The red arrow is an exponential curve (exponential curves trace the value of something which increases or decreases at a constant rate). This exponential curve, which fits the LGF data so neatly, has a growth constant of -0.007851. Loosely translated, this indicates the LGF comment rate has, on average, been shrinking by 0.782% per week, every week, for four and a half years. Compounding weekly, this works out to 3.36% per month, 33.6% per year. LGF has earned a total of -84% compounded (dis)interest since the election of 2008.
